Did you know that roughly 90% of the population is low in magnesium?! This can be very concerning, seeing as magnesium is needed for over 300 physiological processes in the body such as blood sugar regulation, blood pressure regulation, energy production, and optimal sleep.
Could a magnesium deficiency be negatively impacting your health?
Here are the most common signs and symptoms of a magnesium deficiency:
-Brain Fog, Poor Concentration, and Memory Issues
-Constipation
-Headaches
-Irregular heartbeat
-Low energy
-Muscle pain and soreness
-Muscle cramps and spasms
-Poor sleep
Word of caution before you start supplementing with magnesium!
Not all magnesium is created equal and should be assessed by a trusted health care professional. For example, magnesium oxide is the poorest absorbing form of magnesium and is not recommended for supplementation on its own. Or, for another example, if you are prone to loose stools and stomach upset, you may want to avoid magnesium citrate, as this can loosen the bowels even more and cause stomach upset. We can tell you what form of magnesium works the best.
We also offer testing in our clinic to see where your levels are at!
Although all of these symptoms are a sign of magnesium deficiency, your symptoms can also be from deeper issues going on, and we would recommend chatting with one of our practitioners on your concerns.
If you're interested in chatting with one of our trusted practitioners here at Total Health, please give our clinic a call for a free phone consultation at 262-251-2929."
